A MUST HAVE BOOK FOR THE NEWBIE TO RAW FOODS
"This book was a real eye opener for me. The author has created some of the most delicious recipes from raw food that we've ever eaten. The book is well organized and just full of great tips and recipes. I'm new to "raw diets" and I could not recommend this book highly enough as a way to take positive steps toward better health. I hope Jennifer will follow up with raw recipes 2....I'd buy it in a second".

For people without any cooking experience
I bought this book because I wanted to learn about raw foods cuisine - had not a restaurant just opened in my town serving only that! So I was somewhat taken aback by a lot of the recipes that are so silly, I can't believe I paid good money for this book. The promise of a list of kitchen equipment needed for each recipe is merely a gimmick to glorify a maybe mediocre book. The author could as well say "Raw Apple" Equipment needed: knife, cutting board, plate. Cut apple in 8 pieces and eat it. - None of the recipes have a nutritional analysis. After reading through most of them, I can imagine why. Had I seen in a preview how high fat most of this food is, I wouldn't have bought the book. Sure, some fats are better than others, but high fat -any fat- in your diet is unhealthy and packs on pounds I'm trying to shed. One good point is that the recipes - just like the title says - are for one or two people, so I can make a little bit to try a new food instead of wasting a whole lot if I don't like it. And so far, I haven't liked much. This comes from a person who has cooked for 30 years and is happy to try new things; I own a large amount of cookbooks but won't be keeping this one.

* Eat raw, but don't limit yourself ...
This is probably one of the best books about raw food. At least the best I have ever seen, and I did go through a number of those... I am generally in favour of raw foods. The majority of my diet is raw. However some foods do requires some heating :-)... A good addition to this book is Can We Live 150 by M. Tombak. I suggest getting them both for a broad view of the full food spectrum.

* Excellent recipes ...
I LOVE this recipe book.
The recipes are straight-forward, no impossible-to-find ingredients, and they don't take days and days of planning for each meal item. The marinara sauce is fantastic, and the soups I have tried so far taste so fresh and appealing! The chocolate mousse even passed the "teen-ager" taste test - no complaints! I have several other raw food books, but this is one I actually use quite often. It's great that all the recipes are for only one or two portions, they can be doubled if needed.
